Cardiff LGBTQ+ Guide: Queer Nightlife, Events & Pride

Cardiff is the centre of much of Wales’ large-scale LGBTQ+ nightlife and event activity, with a mix of established venues, drag, club nights, live entertainment, Pride celebrations and community events.

The city centre is compact, making it relatively easy to combine dinner, drinks and nightlife without spending the evening travelling between different parts of the city. Regular venues are supported by a changing calendar of themed nights and touring performers, so checking what is on can make a big difference to a weekend visit.

Cardiff also attracts LGBTQ+ visitors from across South Wales, particularly for major events and Pride activity. That gives the city a regional role as well as a local scene, with busy weekends drawing a broad mix of people.

Outside nightlife, queer community and cultural events add more ways to get involved, including social gatherings, performance and daytime activity.

If you are visiting, staying centrally gives easy access to nightlife, transport and the main city attractions.
