About the venue
Dempseys is one of Sheffield’s best-known dedicated LGBTQ+ nightlife venues, combining a bar with a late-night club atmosphere. Its Hereford Street location places it close to the city centre and gives Sheffield a permanent queer venue in a scene that is otherwise spread across events and mixed spaces.
The venue is used for social drinking, music and dancing, with the atmosphere becoming more club-focused later in the night. It attracts a broad mix of local regulars, students and visitors.
For people specifically looking for a gay bar or LGBTQ+ club in Sheffield, Dempseys is one of the most established options. Event formats and entry arrangements can vary, so the latest programme is worth checking.
