About the venue
Equator Bar sits directly on Hurst Street in the heart of Birmingham’s Gay Village and has been part of the local LGBTQ+ scene for more than twenty years. The venue is smaller and more relaxed than the district’s major clubs, giving it a neighbourhood-bar character.
It is a good fit for visitors who want to begin an evening with drinks and conversation before moving on elsewhere in the Village. Its central position means Missing Bar, Nightingale and other queer venues are all close by.
Equator’s longevity is part of its appeal: it represents the more established, social side of Birmingham’s LGBTQ+ nightlife rather than a constantly changing club concept. Current events and opening details should still be checked before travelling.
