About the venue
CHALK is a live music and club venue in Brighton’s Pool Valley, close to the seafront. It is not exclusively an LGBTQ+ venue, but it has a strong inclusive reputation and regularly hosts nights that attract queer audiences alongside its wider gig and club programme.
The venue works across live bands, DJs and club events, so the experience depends heavily on what is booked on a particular date. Its central location and late-night format make it a useful addition to Brighton’s wider LGBTQ+ nightlife, especially for visitors interested in music-led events outside the traditional gay-bar circuit.
Because CHALK is event-driven, checking the specific night is essential. The venue publishes welfare and safety information and presents itself as a place built around acceptance and respect.
